BETTY AMBROSE (FRASER-McCULLOUGH) March 9, 1928 - August 13, 2016 Our mom, Betty passed away peacefully August 13, 2016 at the age of 88. Mom was a generous, humble, and kind spirit; a true caregiver. At the same time she had an adventurous spirit and a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. She made many lifelong friendships along the way. She grew up in East Kildonan, with her twin brother Don, and younger sisters, Eva and Margaret Fraser. She worked at the taxation office before she married our dad Lloyd McCullough in 1957. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother to us where we lived in our family home on Knowles Ave. Family always came first for our mom, filling our lives with much love, support, and laughter. Whether we were involved, swimming, dancing, music or sports, she was our costume maker, driver, motivator and biggest cheerleader. This same passion extended to her grandchildren. She had spent many of her younger years at Grand Beach and loved being able to do the same with us at our family cabin in Grand Marais. We have many everlasting wonderful memories of spending summers at Grand Beach with our cousins and Aunty Margaret. For years she was involved in curling, speed skating and golfing. She also enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends, Maxine and Hazel. Our mom was always very creative and had a wide range of talents including sewing, knitting, petit point, baking and gardening. She was also an avid reader, and sports fan, especially of the Olympics and curling. Later in life she did re-marry and lived in Birds Hill with her husband John Ambrose. There she was a contributing member of the East St. Paul's Seniors Club. Our mom was one of the founding members of the North Kildonan United Church and spent many years actively involved there. She was still an active member and attended their church services at her place of residence, Kildonan Personal Care Centre. She will be deeply missed by us, her children, Tannis (Fred), Fraser (Bobbi), Alison and Grant (Dominique); and grandchildren, Robbyn (Brodie) Tommy, Fraser (Chantel) and Cara (Ryan). She also leaves her sister Margaret (Bill) Maslanko; brother-in-law Ray Chapman; and their families. She was predeceased by husbands, Lloyd and John; her brother Don and his wife Gloria; and her sister Eva Chapman. We wish to thank all the nurses, care aides and other staff at the North Kildonan Personal Care Centre. In the last few days of her life the care was truly exceptional. The staff members were dedicated to ensuring her comfort, allowing her to pass quietly with family at her side. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Kildonan United Church Elevator Fund or the Winnipeg Humane Society. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent in Oakbank. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

I rented a house from Betty and John years back and soon discovered Betty made the best baking and goodies ever!!!! She was an extremely kind lady that will be greatly missed by her family and friends I am sure! My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time!
