Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETRANELLA VANDENAKKER On Sunday, August 14, 2016, Nelly passed away at the age of 96. Nelly was born to Jan and Marta Hoogkamer on March 5, 1920 in Lisse, The Netherlands. Nelly married Anton in 1947 and immigrated to Canada in February, 1954. Together they worked very hard to build a better life and raise their family. Lovingly, she will be remembered by sons, Jim (Olga) and Ron (Kristine); and precious granddaughters, Debbie, Tayler and Lauren, whom she loved dearly, and many friends and relatives in Canada and abroad. Our sincere thanks to all the staff at Kildonan PCH, whom we have come to think of as friends because they treated Mom with such kindness. In lieu of flowers, those wishing can make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her name. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Nellie was not only my resident but a friend. She was a very special lady. Always loved to be very well dressed with her jewelry to match.
