Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARNOLD (JIM) MCKAY July 17, 1937 - August 17, 2016 On August 17, 2016, Arnold James McKay peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at the Golden West Centennial Lodge. Jim is survived by his loving, devoted wife Patricia; daughter Donna Mae Carlson (Mike); son Ian (Karen) and beloved grandchildren Colin and Laura. Jim was predeceased by parents Arnold and Alice McKay and in-laws Mike and Anne Kostynuik. As a young man, Jim was a well-known fastball player and coach. He was a skilled player, playing all infield positions as required. Jim and Patricia met at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate when Patricia was 16. They were married for 54 years. Jim, a Power Engineer, worked at various sites (Molson Brewery, Canadian Forces Bases in Western/South Winnipeg, Catelli Foods, Modern Dairies, lastly Winnipeg International Airport) in Winnipeg. Jim retired from the Winnipeg International Airport after 20 years. Jim enjoyed country music and concerts and was an avid fan of NFL Football, hockey and baseball. In later years Jim enjoyed caring for his yard with Patricia. Jim was extremely proud of his family and worked diligently on their behalf. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. Interment at Brookside Cemetery, reception to follow.
