Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMERVEEN EILEEN GLADYS MARTIN (nee JANZ) October 23, 1926 - August 18, 2016 Merveen was born in the Rural Municipality of Glenwood, Manitoba and spent her younger years in Souris, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husbands, Bill Cameron and George Martin; her parents, Henry and Gladys Janz; sisters, Ruth Kaban and Patricia (Patsy) DesLauriers; and brother Gordon. Granddaughters, Allison and Jill Cameron. Merveen resided in Winnipeg for many years where she worked in private industry and for the Provincial and Federal Governments in administrative secretarial positions. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and St. Ignatius Church. Left to mourn are her son, Dr. Calvin B. Cameron (Joanne); grandchildren Jennie Cameron and Meagan Greene; great-grandchildren: Evan, Nathan, Liam, Sydney, Morgan, Cameron, Jacob and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Misericordia Place for attending to her daily needs and allowing her to live out her remaining years in comfort. Special love and appreciation to niece Janice and her husband George Watters for all the years of support they have given her. Memorial service to take place in the Chapel at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service. Refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, 99 Cornish Avenue, Room 161, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1A2. I met Merveen through my first husband as they worked at Deloitte Haskins and Sells. She was a receptionist and he was an accountant. After our divorce,, Merveen stayed friends with myself and my son, Stephen. Merveen was a wonderful friend and will be sadly missed. Merveen and I were close friends for many years in the life insurance industry. she became a true friends to me and my family and will be missed. since I moved to British Columbia in 2006 we lost touch with each other, but our memories will last forever. my condolences to her family.
