I met Yvonne and Bill when we were camping out in St. Malo, Manitoba. Yvonne had worked with my mother Beatrice (Bibi Champagne) Girouard at Swift packers in the 1950's. My mother and Gladys Tait and Yvonne were the best of friends when they were at Swift's. Yvonne knew all of my mother's family from St. Norbert. Yvonne told me once, that she had considered my mother like another sister. I love hearing about the old stories from the past and their travelling around North America. The last time that I saw Yvonne was the day after my mother's funeral in 2008. But I still kept in contact with her afterwards, by telephoning from Montreal. - Posted by: Richard Girouard (Longtime friend) on: Jun 04, 2018

We were so saddened to hear of Yvonne's passing. Every time we were in Winnipeg, we always stopped to see her and have a short visit and were amazed at her spunk and sense of humour even at the age of 90+ , Yvonne and Bill were long time friends of my mother and father Beryl and Rurik Bjornson. We will miss Yvonne immensely. Our deepest sympathy to all the family, with special thoughts to brother Laurence and niece Kim. So sorry we cannot attend the funeral due to the miles between us. - Posted by: Linda (Bjornson) and Alan Cornell, Edmonton Alberta (Long time friend) on: Aug 23, 2016
