PHILIPPE CORNEAU October 31, 1958 - August 22, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that his family announces his passing after his brave fight with cancer. He leaves to mourn his wife Sue; their children, Pierce and Tanya; his dog Bandit; his mother Lynn; his siblings, Mitch (Elaine), Sue (Dave), Danny (Christine) and Mark; his mother-in-law Carmen; as well as many nieces and nephews. Phil was a 25 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces serving his country in the Military Police unit which saw him stationed in CFB North Bay, 4MP PLATOON, Lahr, Germany, CFB Esquimalt, CFB Trenton and CFB Winnipeg where he retired. He also gave his time and energy to the Foreign Affairs Department serving as a Close Protection Officer to the Canadian Ambassador in Afghanistan. With his gift of gab and his high energy personality, Phil went on to work in both the security department and as a tour guide at the Royal Canadian Mint and in the security department at the Human Rights Museum. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. The family wishes to give thanks to the doctors, nurses and social workers of MAID. You went above and beyond, thank you for your compassion. The family also wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba for the great care you took of him. - Posted by: Brigitte Maguet (Summer student at the Mint - mentored by Phil) on: Sep 19, 2016
