Date of Passing: Aug 22, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS COLIN CUDDY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Cuddy at Deer Lodge Centre on August 22 at the age of 94. Tom will be deeply missed by his daughter Lauren Cuddy, her husband Terry Mitchell; and his son Ron and wife Lorna Cuddy; his daughter-in-law Rose Cuddy; his sister-in-law Joyce Coutts and five grandchildren, Judy Kemp, John Kemp, Thomas Cuddy, Sean Jirgens and Russell Jirgens. He will also be deeply missed by his cousins Betty and Jerry Ferguson, Bob and Clara Ramsey and Donna Brown, an extended family who were like brothers and sisters to him. Tom was predeceased by his wife Beryl, his son Norman and his brother John. Tom was born in Winnipeg in 1922, and grew up in Sanford, Manitoba. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1941 at the age of 19 and was sent overseas, where he worked with the team developing radar, which began a lifelong love of electronics and technology. He met Beryl Coutts in Carberry, Manitoba and they married in 1949. They ran an electronics and appliance store in Carberry, where their first son, Norman, was born. In 1953, they moved to Sudbury, Ontario, where Lauren was born, and then moved back to Winnipeg in 1956 for the birth of Ron. Tom and Beryl spent many happy years in Winnipeg, where Tom was the service manager for RCA Victor. In 1971, Tom joined Applied Electronics as Sales Manager, selling broadcast equipment across western Canada. Tom and Beryl moved to Calgary, Alberta, where they lived for many years, eventually moving back to Winnipeg in 2000. Tom enjoyed living at Riverwood Square in Fort Garry for the past eight years. Tom will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and his love of life. He was a devoted father and friend, and will be sorely missed. A private memorial service will be held with the family. The family would like to thank the staff at Tower Five at the Deer Lodge Centre for their care and compassion over the past four months of Tom's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army or the Canadian Cancer Society. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

I was saddened to hear about Colin's passing and want to pass along my condolences to Lauren, Ron, Rose, Joyce and their families and to the Ramsey family extension. He lived a long and probably very enjoyable life. I know that he and Beryl were always very hospitable to me over the years, especially during their time in Calgary. Colin knew how to have a good time and always had a story or joke to lighten one's spirits. When I was searching for the obituary I also saw the obit for Norm - I did not realize that he had died so I also want to extend my condolences to Rose and everyone …. Colin would have found Norm's death very hard. - Posted by: Deb Lee (cousin) on: Aug 27, 2016
