  • Donna was a beautiful soul, gifted with so many talents to make us laugh and cry. Donna and I became true great friends at St. John’s College, U of M. I am forever grateful for all she shared with me, including her worlds of film & theatre. My condolences & prayers to partner Steve and the Lewis family. My life is richer for knowing her. - Posted by: Melanie Last (Friend) on: Aug 31, 2016

  • My memories of Donna always included a camera...we shared many classes together and similar interests. It was nice when after high school we would run into each other at various arts-related events in the city. Donna had a maturity about her, an ageless kinda wisdom and poise...she could be quite humorous yet enigmatic. Her wit was sharp and dry. It was sad to hear of her passing....took me right back to my youth....gave me an instant photograph of her in my mind. Faces fade away from us over the course of time but the image of Donna is as sharp now as it was then. My condolences go out to her family, her partner and her many friends spread across the globe. - Posted by: Rosey Goodman (High School confreres) on: Aug 30, 2016

  • Donna was my collaborator, my spiritual advisor, and my soul mate. I was so lucky to find a person with whom I could share the full spectrum of life. She cared truly, madly, and deeply for her friends and family. She was a natural born comedian and performer. I am so sorry I cannot attend the service in Carmen. Please light a candle for her for me and send a little paper boat down the river to wish her a sweet journey on her way. We will mark her passing here on the West Coast, which was her second home. • Donna was a wonderful friend, and an imaginative actor to get to work with. I just took out a beautiful golden coloured jean jacket to wear this autumn that she mailed to me on a whim one day, because she thought I'd like it. It's a treasure, and she was right as always. Donna faced physical challenges with a stoic wonder that still inspires me, though I haven't seen her in 20 years. I know she adored her family, and my heart goes out to you in this great loss. Donna was larger than life, generally got just what she wanted (I remember how much of a crush she had on Steve and how she KNEW they were meant to be together) and she inspired me more than I can say. We are richer for having known her. - Posted by: cookie roscoe (friend) on: Aug 28, 2016
