AGNES LAURIN In loving memory of Agnes Laurin (nee Emond). She was born on November 11, 1917 in Labroquerie, Manitoba. Peacefully, with her family at her side, Agnes passed away at Centre Action Marguerite (Taché) on August 30, 2016. Maman was pre-deceased by her dear husband, Léandre, and son-in-law, Edward DeGagne. She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, Claude (Donna Cook), Roger (Beverly Ronald), Gerald (Laurel Edwards), and five daughters, Doris (Lucien Rioux), Gisele ( Bev Fyfe), Lucille (feu Edward DeGagne), Rolande (Jean-Marie Rioux), Paulette ( Mark Russell) . Maman leaves behind a legacy of eight children spanning five generations of 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great-grandchildren that preserve her loving memory in their hearts. She also leaves her sister Gilberte Garand, sister-in-law Léonie Damphousse and will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was happily married to Léandre for 54 years . They were very much in love and devoted to each other and raised their family in St. Boniface. Agnes was a woman of deep faith and was dedicated to the well-being of the family. She spared no effort to ensure their happiness. Maman found the time to be there for us actively involving herself in cooking, knitting, crocheting, baking, entertaining, and also enjoyed her weekly bingo. We are also proud of how she started bowling long after retirement. Maman was not a stranger to hard work and demonstrated a work ethic that is matched by few. After raising eight children, she returned to the work force at the age of 40. She began a 30-year career as a nurse's aide on the maternity ward at the St. Boniface Hospital and retired at the age of 70. The family wishes to thank the staff of 3ABC at Actionmarguerite for their loving care of our Maman. A celebration will be held on September 6, 2016, at 10 am, followed by 10:30 am mass, at the Cathédrale St.Boniface. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Actionmarguerite St Boniface, 185 Despins, St. Boniface, R2H 2B3. You will always be in our hearts until we meet again, Maman! Doris & Family, Sincere sympathy in the loss of your Mom. I worked at St. Boniface Hospital many years ago and had my morning coffee break with her every day. She was such a sweet "little" lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Dave & Louise Morgan (friend) on: Sep 03, 2016
