RUTH GERALDINE NICHOLSON (nee MURRAY) February 2, 1926 - August 29, 2016 Ruth Nicholson of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 90. Ruth was predeceased by her husband John, all her siblings, and daughter-in-law Cindy. She is survived by her loving daughter Carole (Wayne), loving son Bruce, her four grandchildren Michael (Rheanna), Tara (Scott), Ryan (Kayla), Steve (Diane), and five great-grandchildren Adrianna, Kade, Reid, Sarah, and Avery. Born in Winnipeg, Ruth spent most of her life in Fort Rouge before moving to St. Vital for her retirement years. Early on, she worked for Hudson's Bay in gift wrapping before finding her life's work at Eaton's downtown in the China Department. Family was always central to Ruth's life, and she was a loyal and dedicated partner to her husband John. A very special lady, Ruth was blessed with a big heart, a sharp mind, and a laugh that could light up a room. A private memorial service was held at Chapel Lawn with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund.
