Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD LEROY WINSTON WEBB October 5, 1937 - August 27, 2016 Dr. Gerald Leroy Winston Webb passed away on Saturday, at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, after being diagnosed with lung and brain cancer. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife, Marilynn; and will be deeply missed by his daughter Jean Marie and her husband Ndumiso Mhlophe; and by his grandchildren, Aaron Gerald and Maya Marie. He will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his partner Adelaide; her children, Gwen, Andre, Marcia, Alana, Alicia and Adrian; and their grandchildren, who will miss "Grandpa". Dad was born in Trinidad, West Indies to Emmanuel and Janicta Webb. He is big brother to Joan, Bernadette, Allan, Stephanie, Janet, Elizabeth, Cuthbert, Lennox, and George. Known affectionately as Gerry, Uncle Gerald or Doc by many, Dad graduated from the University of Manitoba with his B.Sc. Civil Engineering in 1964, and then went on to get his M.Eng. and Ph.D. in Geotechnical Civil Engineering from McGill University. Over the next 45 plus years, Dad worked in the design and construction of highways, airport runways and structures throughout the Caribbean and Canada. Dad has been a very active Lions Club member since 1975, and was an avid world traveler. Our family would like to thank all of the staff at the Victoria Hospital who took care of dad in his final days, thank you to our friends and family who surrounded us with so much love, and a special thank you to Uncle George for always being there for us. Funeral services were held on Friday September 2, 2016. In lieu of flowers and cards, donations in Dad's memory may be made to: The University of Manitoba Civil Engineering Class of 1964 Bursary Fund, 137 Innovation Dr. Winnipeg, MB R3T 6B6, or to a charity of one's choice.
