Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOTTO KARL PESTYK October 19, 1935 - September 13, 2016 After a brief struggle with heart failure, Otto passed away peacefully at his home with his wife at his side as he would have wanted. Predeceased by his father Victor; mother Gisella; sister Claudia; brother-in-law Norman Hall; sister-in-law Kay and niece Denise Loughlin. Left behind to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth and his two children, Deborah and Victor; son-in-law Bob Semkowski; grandchildren, Kelly (Jay) and Dena (Dustin); great-grandchildren, Austin and Ari; his brother Valerian in Regina; sister Trudy in Red Deer; in-laws from his wife Elizabeth's family, many nieces and nephews, their families and also many close friends. Otto was born in Southey, Saskatchewan, his family moved to Brandon, Manitoba in 1948, where he completed school and started a career with Greyhound Bus lines. He met his wife Elizabeth in 1954 in Brandon and were married shortly after. He was transferred to the Winnipeg Greyhound facility in 1966 where they built a new family home and raised their two children. Otto's greatest passion was his family, he always wanted us to be happy and comfortable in every way and not worry about him. He also had a great love of animals and the outdoors, but especially the family cottage. He loved every moment he spent there and shared this with everyone that was close. You could feel his overwhelming joy when he was at the cottage and in his element. Otto loved to laugh, he was always very grateful for everything and every moment of his life. He was the best example of what a father should reflect. He never complained, he was a Rock to all who knew him. A true Jack of all trades, the cottage won't be the same without him. He will be remembered and honoured for his undying devotion and love of his family. We are all so very proud of you Dad. He will be painfully and lovingly missed by all. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Uncle Otto was an awesome Uncle to me and my wife. We had awesome dinner outings at the Sumhay and Fortune Cookie restaurant, with all the family birthdays etc. There was always so much fun and laughter with somebody cracking a joke or saying something funny. I remember another outing at Deb'so place it was Uncle Otto and Aunt Liz anniversary. It was an awesome time there were all the family was there as well as friends games, Karaoke and lots of food. It was an honor to be there to celebrate their anniversary. I will miss Uncle Otto he was such a kind loving man never had a mean thing to say. Now he is in heaven with Jesus. Go rest high on that mountain son your work on earth is done, Go to heaven shouting, Love for the Father and the son. L - Posted by: Mr and Mrs Garth Henry (Nephew) on: Sep 16, 2016
