Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN MAY VERVILLE (nee MARTELL) May 22, 1922 - September 12, 2016 Peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family, Helen Verville passed away on September 12, 2016 at the age of 94 years. She will be sadly missed by her children: Dennis (Joan) Checkley, Dale (Jackie) Verville, and Lori (Wayne) Smith; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother Larry (Judy) Martell of Victoria, BC; sisters-in-law Mary Ruth Martell of Victoria, BC and Marcelle Verville of Gravelbourg, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Adelard; daughter Marilyn, daughter-in-law Barbara, grandson Darren, and brother Wayne. Family was the most important thing to Mom and always came first in her life. Her grandchildren loved spending time at the lake, especially waking up early to have special alone time with her. Mom enjoyed keeping busy with supervising at the garden, doing crossword puzzles, and relaxing while listening to the radio. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make donations to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation or Riverview Health Centre. My sympathy to the family for the loss of Helen. I was so fortunate to spend time with Helen as a Monday volunteer at Riverview Hospital attending bingo, doing crosswords and listening to wonderful stories of her much loved family. I will miss her.
