MARIJA SLAVKA BOYCHUK On Tuesday we parted ways with our friend, sister, mother and grandmother, Marija Slavka Boychuk. She was born in Rupe, Croatia to her parents, Nikola and Sinka Mandusic. At 21, with her sister and brother, she moved to Winnipeg, Canada. On December 29, 1979, she started a family with her husband of 25 years, David Anthony Boychuk. She cared greatly for two boys, Daniel Abraham and Anthony Marlen. Marija enjoyed music throughout her life, always having some playing. She found happiness in painting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family. Marija faced many health challenges in her life with incredible strength and courage. She often made others laugh through her unique sense of humour. She showed boundless love as a grandmother to Lyla and Nolan. A ceremony to reflect on Marija's life will be held on September 19, 1:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. I am in shock. I just found out a little while ago that you passed away. Even though we spent a couple of years together we shared a lot of good times and had many phone conversations. We also had so many good laughs and you touched my heart. I feel you are my sister even though the time was short. I will never forget you. Until we meet again.
