DORENE V. PATTIE (nee HAYWARD) September 7, 1923 - September 5, 2016 After a brief battle with cancer, Dorene passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016. Dorene grew up in Minaki, Ontario, and was married in 1946. She and husband Roy lived in remote areas of BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, experiencing many happy years and adventures. Dorene was predeceased by husband Roy, siblings James, Herb, George and Hilda. She is survived by children, Dave (Carol), Don, Shirley (Rick); grandchildren, Shannon, Kim (Stephen), Kaleigh (Larry), Ashleigh and great-grandchildren, Riley and Rowan. In addition, she is survived by sister-in-law Ruth Pattie, along with numerous nephews and nieces, and their families. Since 1970, Dorene has been a resident of St. James. Special thanks to the coordinators, nurses and doctors of the palliative care program and the St. Boniface Hospital. A private family service will be arranged at a later date.
