JUSTIN GREGORY GAGNON March 27, 1981 - September 15, 2016 After a courageous battle with congenital lung disease we lost our son, brother, uncle and great friend. He is survived by his parents Greg and Brenda; sisters Jenelle (Hans) and Jaryn (Cory); nephews Ayden, Austyn, Carter, Colton and Caiden; his brah Gorm; Grandma Shirley Miller, Grandpa Wilfred Gagnon; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his Grandma Rena Gagnon, Uncle Wilfie Gagnon and Grandpa Donald Miller. Growing up in Gillam, Justin loved spending time at the cabin, snowmobiling, boating, hockey, boy scouts, lego land and, as a teenager, bush parties and cruising in koom'. After graduating from Gillam School, Justin moved to Winnipeg where he completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Manitoba. He worked as a Telemarketer and Insurance Broker. He had a passion for politics and a love for music which he enjoyed listening to with his cat Joseph Strummer Ramone the 3rd. Active in Kinsmen, he enjoyed serving the community's greatest need. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Epilepsy & Seizure Association of Manitoba, 4-1805 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2V 2A2. A celebration of life will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall, MB. • My deepest condolences to Brenda, Greg, and family. As they say, a child should never depart before the parents. I will fondly remember Justin coming out to gigs and rockin' out - giggling and laughing with us, stopping in at his house for a couple beers with Gorm before a show, talking music, and "Gags" picking up the bass at the old Headingley jam room and playing a few songs while sipping a couple. We will all miss you Justin. - Posted by: Jeff Bloodworth (Friend of Justin, Brenda and Greg (and co-worker)) on: Sep 19, 2016

  • I met Justin on a trip to Gilliam 17 years ago. A few years later I moved to Winnipeg and he was frequently over. We had many great and late night talks on politics and music. He had a great sense of humor and was an all-round nice guy. I have many great memories with him. I recall seeing the Tragically Hip with him at the Forks and his constant crowd surfing, totally fearless! We also spent four hours walking to a party once in Winnipeg only to show up to it being over, like life it's not the destination that mattered but the journey and who you share it with that counts. I am happy I was able to share part of the journey with him. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. - Posted by: Nate (Friend) on: Sep 18, 2016
