On September 16, 2016, Heinrich Hamm died peacefully in Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home at the age of 91.
The youngest son of Heinrich and Anna Hamm (nee Schroeder), he was born in the village of Rudnerweide, in the Molotschna Colony in south Ukraine on June 9, 1925.
He was predeceased by his parents, Heinrich and Anna Hamm, his brother Woldemar, his stepmother Else, and his beloved wife Helene Hamm.
He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters-in-law, Katherina Spenst and Erna Schellenberg with their families in Germany, one niece, Helene Andreevna in Russia, cousin Helene Riesen and family, and dear friends Doris and Roland Wickstrom, Adina Wall, Jakob Toews, as well as many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue, with interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home in Winnipeg.
