Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH SHURVELL On September 24, 2016, Elizabeth Mary Shurvell passed away at the Grace Hospital in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Murray in 2002, she is survived by her three sons, Dale (Joyce), Barry (Colleen) and Brent (Kathy), seven grandchildren: Alison, Amy (Mason), Jennifer (Kris), Kaylee (Alex), Melissa (Greg), Meagan (Gabriel), and Kevin, as well as two great-grandchildren: Danica and Blake. Born in Winnipeg on May 13, 1920, the daughter of Elizabeth and Walter Holloway, Betty grew up on Cathedral Avenue. She graduated from St. John's High School and worked at the wireless school during the war where she met Murray. They were married for over 50 years and travelled the world once the boys were raised. They spent many winters in San Diego. Betty was an avid sports fan and a beautiful knitter. Everyone in the family has one of her wonderful blankets or sweaters to remember her by. A private family service will be held. Friends and family are invited to a gathering on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
