ALEX ANDREW MCDERMID (AL) June 15, 1934 - October 1, 2016 After a hard fought battle with cancer, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grampa and great-grampa. Al was predeceased by his loving wife Val of 61 years, and their son Larry. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons Kevin (Brenda), Keith (Laurie), Clinton (Chanda), and daughter-in-law Vicki, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad was a talented musician, playing drums in several bands all his life. Dad and Mom owned and operated The Sunshine Beach Campground at Twin Lakes Beach for over 50 years. He will be missed by many others whose lives he touched with his kindness. He meant so much to so many, we will miss him every day. Dad truly had a heart of gold. The family would like to thank Stonewall Hospital and Grace CancerCare Clinic for the loving care of our father. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace CancerCare Clinic, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

It was a pleasure growing up at the lake and being a part of the "little store" (and later, campground/boat launch) at the end of Venice Road when it replaced (far exceeded) Welches and the store at McKenzie Bay. Sincere condolences to the family on the loss of now both your parents who will be dearly missed. Kind regards; Linda, Brian and Marian Glover (Ernie passed in 2011), and our families. - Posted by: Linda (Glover) Smyrski and family (Friend at Twin Beaches) on: Oct 25, 2016
