Date of Passing: Oct 06, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) CHARLES THOM March 7, 1951 - October 6, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Bob Thom at the age of 65 at the Gimli Community Health Centre with all of his loved ones at his side. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his beloved wife Barbara of 46 years; son Scott (Nancy) and their sons, Regan and Ryder; son Kevin (Heidy); special family members Curtis (Samantha) and their daughters Tia and Brook; sisters Dorothy (Derek) and Margaret (Don); brother Wayne, numerous sister and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bob and Eileen. Bob was a skilled and inventive individual who took great pride in owning his own business, RC Thom Enterprises. He loved spending time with his sons and grandsons fishing and reminiscing. He enjoyed music, playing his drums and family get togethers. He was a private individual who cherished his family and the simpler things in life like sitting on the deck with Barb enjoying a cup of coffee with the dogs at their feet. The family would like to thank Dr. R.C. Patel and the nursing staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre for their compassion and exceptional care. Also a special thank you to his home care workers and his sister-in-law Dorothy for all the love and support they showed Bob. In keeping with Bob's wishes cremation has taken place. For those who wish to pay their respects a grave side memorial will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gimli Community Cemetery. A celebration of his life for family and invited guests only will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gimli Humane Society. Rest in peace, we will love you forever.
