STANLEY WASYLOWSKI With his family by his side, and with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stanley Wasylowski on October 10, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 87 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mildred; daughter Christine (Alex) Janower; son Lawrence; granddaughters Amber and Ashley; sister Jennie (Tony) Hykawy. He was predeceased by his son Raymond, and brother Peter. Stanley was born on September 6, 1929 in Malonton, Manitoba. He was the second child of three surviving children to Dymytro and Mary. He was raised by his father after losing his mother at an early age. He began his education at the age of eight at Cavendish school located in the Fraserwood area. He attended until Grade eight. After school, he began farming. When money was short he took up odd jobs. In 1950 he began working at the airport in Gimli, where he did landscaping. In 1954, he worked for John Melnyk Transfer and in 1956 Stanley worked at the Fraserwood Creamery. Stanley married Mildred Krochenski on June 2, 1956. This year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together they farmed in the Fraserwood area with their son. His greatest passion was farming, he loved to work on the hayfield and check the cattle from the fence, he also loved music. When he was a teenager, he played in a band with his brother and sister. He played drums and later accordion and violin. He would play violin with his brothers-in-law Walter and Leon and his nephew Blaine at family get-togethers. Family was important to him. He enjoyed socializing with family, friends and neighbours. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fraserwood Hall. Interment will follow in the St. Frances cemetery, Fraserwood, MB. Pallbearers will be Garry Wasylowski, Gary Krochenski, Ronnie Krochenski, Blaine Kohut, Rodney Krochenski, Blaine Kohut, Rodney Krochenski and Robert Dewald. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at Health Sciences Centre on GD4 for their care and compassion.
