FRANK RATHBONE ALDWINCKLE It is with great sadness our family announces the peaceful death of Frank, at the age of 97 years at the Victoria Hospital, with family at his side. Frank was born February 12, 1919 in Stanmore, Middlesex, England. He married the love of his life, Mabel Waring on March 18, 1941 and together they shared 75 years of marriage. Frank served with the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) from 1939 to 1945 during the Second World War. Frank immigrated to Canada in 1953 and with his son, proudly became a Canadian citizen five years later. Over the course of his career Frank held positions as an office manager and bookkeeper with various companies in the building trade. He loved to curl, travel and was an avid supporter of the Chelsea football club. Frank was a proud member of the Freemasons and member in good standing with St. John's Lodge. Left to cherish Frank's memory are his wife of 75 years, Mabel, son Spencer (Audrey), granddaughter Terri (Wil), grandson Howard, four great-grandchildren, nieces Pamela Bolton (David), Eleanore Verplaetse (Barry), nephew Chris (Pat) of England, and several great-nieces and nephews. Frank was a true family man whose strength, courage, love and devotion were an example to all of us. Our family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Munsamy and the staff of the 5th floor of the Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care of Frank. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Frank's life on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery).
