TOMASO GIOVANNI TALARICO March 19, 1920 - October 12, 2016 Peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, Tomaso (Tom) passed away at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home. Dad was born in Winnipeg on March 19, 1920. First son of six children to parents Giovanni and Kathleen Talarico. He was married to the love of his life for 41 years, Genevieve (predeceased October 2003). In his youth Tom played hockey for the St. Paul's church. He worked with his father in the family fruit business and later continued the business where he was self-employed for 25 years. He also served his country for four and a half years in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He then completed his employment with Alpine Messenger Service after 13 years. Dad enjoyed spending time with family, travelling, and all sporting events. He remained active by cycling and walking until the age of 89. He leaves to cherish his memory: siblings Fred and Marion, daughters Susan and Lisa (Tom), six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. His son-in-law Jim, and great-granddaughter Winnie predeceased him. Thank you to Calvary Place for the quality care provided to our father. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Alzheimer Society of Canada. In accordance with family wishes, a private burial service was held.
