Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON ERNEST MOODIE June 26, 1928 - October 21, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Moodie on October 21, 2016 at the Grace Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ten days earlier his beloved wife of 65 years, Geraldine Moodie (nee Beaton) also passed. Gordon is survived by his children Randy (Sherry), Debbie (Ron), Lori (Phil) and Dawn (Wes); five grandchildren, Colleen (Chris), Shannon (Shane), Paul (Nichole), Richard (Samantha) and Rachel (Mauricio); four great-grandchildren, Calista, Luke, Derek and Brooklyn; nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his mother Norah Moodie (nee Vincent) and father Albert Moodie; four sisters Hazel Rolfe, Donalda (Dawn) Macaskill, Norma Rolfe, Beatrice (Betty) McElrevy. Gordon was born on June 26, 1928, in Seattle, Washington, USA. He came to Canada with his parents when he was six months old. He then became a Canadian citizen. His entire childhood was spent in Winnipeg. Having four older sisters, he was the apple of their eyes. Gordon met Geraldine and fell in love and were married on June 30, 1951. Gordon was a wonderful husband and father. He had a love of life, loved to sing, enjoyed telling jokes, had a great sense of humour. He loved to golf and was an avid sports fan. He spent many hours in his wonderful garden. Gordon was employed for 27 years as a machinist and millwright for CP Rail (Weston Shops) and retired May 13, 1992. The family would like to thank the EMS staff, the health care team at the Grace Hospital and Doctor Macek, for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. It was Gordon's wishes that he be laid to rest with Geraldine in a private family service at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. "Love you forever."
