Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHOW PING WONG (nee AU) January 4, 1934 - November 1, 2016 Chow Ping Wong on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the age of 82 peacefully passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her daughters, Pam Wong-McGrath (Mark), Wendy Liu, Leslie Pawlyk (Mel) and Linda Wong; grandchildren Christopher, Melissa, Tianna and Cassie; her brother, Chris Au (Rika) and their children (Douglas, Graham); her sister Ada Leong (Stephen) and their son Anthony (Edith), her sister-in-law Lily Wong Guenther (Gordon), Lai Kai Wong and her children, many cousins and longtime friends. Ping is predeceased by her husband, Jim Wong, her parents Kwong Ming and Gee Jan Au. Ping was born on January 4, 1934, in Guangzhou, China. Mom married dad on September 10, 1956 in Hong Kong and moved to Winnipeg. When she first came to Winnipeg, she worked in the sewing factory up to 1971. In 1972, Mom and Dad operated the restaurant until their retirement. Ping loved to spend time with family and friends and loved to play a game of mah jong. You're at peace Mom/Poh Poh with dad/Goong Goong, we love you. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital and Fred Douglas Nursing Home for their care and compassion.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ping's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue - across from Brookside Cemetery.
