PATRICK (PADDY) MEYLER Peacefully, on November 1, 2016, Paddy Meyler passed away at the age of 69 surrounded by his family at the Stonewall Hospital. He will be forever missed by his beloved wife, Lynn; his sons, Shawn (Patrica), Kevin (Monika); his daughters, Destiny and Stephanie; his grandchildren, Priya, Cullen and Evelyn; his sister Joan and many friends and acquaintances. Paddy was predeceased by his parents Frank and Kate and his brother Michael. Born in 1947 in Gusserane Ireland, Paddy moved to Canada in 1966. He met Lynn and they were married in 1970 and they enjoyed 46 years together, raising their children as well as numerous foster children through Child and Family Services. Paddy worked for Corrections Canada for 35 years until he retired in 2005, following which he had worked with youth at Marymound Centre for 17 years. Paddy was very active in the Knights of Columbus. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, followed by a mass celebrating his life at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Association for Community Living (Interlake Branch), Box 1222, Stonewall, MB, R0C 2Z0, would be appreciated.   • I am deeply saddened by the passing of Paddy. I worked with Paddy for many years and found him to be a kind, gentle man. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and remember his sense of humour and his calm approach, no matter what the situation. He was truly a person who people enjoyed associating with and he will be dearly missed.   • My deepest condolences to the Meyler family. I worked with Paddy for many years and respected his wisdom and calm during occasional tense situations in the prison.
