NORMAN RODGER HAMILTON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Hamilton on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Norman Hamilton passed away at the age of 90 peacefully at Charleswood Care Centre. Norman will be survived by his children Barry Hamilton (Rita), Ken Hamilton (Susan), Candace Zihrul (Leonard) of Manitoba and his sisters Wilma Sheffield of Victoria, BC and Lorraine Maze of Sedro Wooley, Washington. Norman was predeceased by his loving wife Roma Hamilton (nee Choquette) in 1996, his parents William Hamilton in 2000 and Hilda Hamilton in 1998 and his sister B. Frances Davis in 1999. Norman was born in Roland Manitoba and grew up on the family farm. He later settled in Winnipeg with his wife Roma to work and raise a family. He served in the army as a young man and then worked for Winnipeg Transit starting in the early days of street cars until retirement in 1986. Dad loved to 10 pin bowl and could be found at Chateau Lanes bowling in several leagues especially after his retirement. He loved his puppies and would be seen throughout the neighborhood going for walks several times a day. At Normans request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, One Green Acres Lane, Winnipeg, MB with Interment in The Holy Angel Mausoleum. The family appreciates the care provided to Norman Hamilton during his stay at Charleswood Care Centre. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Norman's name to Winnipeg Human Society 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or a charity of your choice.
