ANNE LORRAINE RUEB
Date of Passing: Nov 05, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE LORRAINE RUEB (nee LETKEMAN) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anne on November 5, 2016, at the age of 87. Left to mourn are her children Brian (Darla), Colleen, Cathy and Tim. She also leaves behind six grandchildren Scott (Leona), Donovan (Shannon), Brent (Tanya), Danielle (Trevor), Joel (Trista) and Maria. Mom was also blessed with eight precious great-grandchildren Brodie, Hailey, Payton, Garritt, Jaxsen, Carter, Zachary, and Skyler. Two sisters remain, Shirley (Ken), and Caroline, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom were very precious to her. She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Mary Letkeman, her husband George, and seven siblings Helen, Jack, Betty, Mary and triplets in infancy. Mom was a very active and sociable person. She loved a good joke, to play cards and games, to read (and was an avid reader right to the end though her books had to be large print). She was the biggest Blue Jays fan and didn't miss a game. She was very happy to watch the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in the World Series! Whether it was baseball or curling, you could often hear her loud cheers down the hall! She also loved her church, had a very strong faith, and was a very active participant her whole life. She loved to sing and especially enjoyed country music. Mom loved to quilt, knit, crochet, embroider, and bake. She made the most awesome "birdie" buns and homemade soup! Mom had a long and full life and we will miss her terribly. Family dinners and gatherings will never be the same but we will carry on her legacy. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. Bergmann and staff in the Concordia E.R. and I.C.U. To the staff of 2 North at Donwood Manor, your love, care and compassion for Mom was second to none and for that we are forever grateful. Also to Norma Zyla, your faithful visits and love that you gave to Mom will always be treasured. A celebration of Mom's life will take place on Monday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Ave. in Winnipeg with Mom's nephew Pastor Bruce Gelhorn officiating. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so desire, donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of your choice. Rest in peace dear Mom, and Fly with the Angels!! I'm very sorry to learn about your mother's passing. When she lived at 765 Kimberly, I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with her. I managed to visit her couple of times when she was on Henderson but was able to chat with her on the phone often. Last time I talked to her she was at Donwood but was her usual cheerful Anne. I'll always treasure the friendship we had. I'm sure you are all going to miss her very much. - Posted by: Kaz Teramura (friend) on: Nov 13, 2016
