DOLORES SYLVIA BRADE October 15, 1945 - November 7, 2016 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Dolores Sylvia Brade. On November 7, mom's courageous struggle came to a valiant end, she can now rest in peace. Mom was born October 15, in St. Catherines, ON, moving to the family farm in Gypsumville, MB, when she was a young girl. She took pride in helping her parents on the farm, befriending two of her favourite playmates, Lullabelle her pig and Dolly her cow. This began her love of animals which was proven by the many stray cats she would take in throughout her life. Mom was a hard working lady, she began her first job at Starr's Gas Station at the age of 15 while still tending to the many farm duties and assisting her dad with the Saw Mill. She worked at Starr's until moving in to the city in 1966. She took on a position at Paulin Chambers, which we lovingly teased her about being the best "Cracker Packer" they would have. She was there until the company closed in 1991. In her 24 years, she made many lifelong friends. In 1994 she began working at Superstore in Loss Prevention. She would be there until her health began to fail and was forced to retire in 2009. She missed all the wonderful people she worked with. In 1969 mom met the love of her life, her soul mate and best friend, Bobby, as she lovingly called him. They had many wonderful years travelling to Hawaii, Vegas, the West Coast and in to the States. Mom and Dad celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this past July. Mom loved many things but nothing would compare to the love she had for her grandchildren. She was an amazing grandmother! Her passion was her garden. In summer you could always find her in the back yard tending to her many flowers and veggies. On many occasions, she would be out there from morning till dusk. The placement of the flowers had to be just right. Transplanting three and four times was not unusual. Mom and dad's was the place to be in the early years. They put on many gatherings whether it be a bridal shower, baby shower, Thanksgiving meal or just a place for friends and family to gather for a few drinks. Good times were always had by all. Well mom that leaves you and me we certainly had our times, two strong willed women. You always supported and encouraged me in every facet of my life never pushing too hard even when my choices were less than desirable and heaven knows there were times. Your love, help and support, especially while raising the kids was invaluable, I couldn't have done it without you. I love you mom with all my being. Special thanks to Curtis and Corrine for spending time with her throughout her time of need. It meant the world to her. Mom was predeceased by her mother Alice Hunter; father Bart Hunter; brother Norman Hunter; nephew Carey Hunter and sister-in-law Joyce Hunter. Lovingly remembered by husband Robert (Bobby) Brade; daughter Karen Storimans (Tim); grandchildren, Brit Brade (Samara), Jared Storimans, Tyrell Storimans (Andrea); nephew Curtis Hunter (Helen); niece Corrine McKelvey (Kevin) and sister-in-law Marilyn Hunter and numerous cousins. A celebration of her life will be held at Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Don't think of her as gone away her journey's just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. Think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Human Society or Animal Shelter of your choice. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

Mom tomorrow will mark the one year anniversary of your passing. It's so hard to believe it's been a full year already. You are in my thoughts everyday. I hope your dancing, barefoot in a beautiful field of flowers which I know you'd love so much. Love & Miss you, Karen - Posted by: Karen (Daughter) on: Nov 06, 2017
