Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARINUS (SLIM) DEWIT April 18, 1932 - November 14, 2016 Slim peacefully passed away at Concordia Hospital, with his family by his side, at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his dedicated wife of 54 years, Marge in 2009. Slim is lovingly remembered by his three children Debbie (Denis), Shelley (Jim), and Randy; five grandchildren Ryan (Nina), Renee, Nicola, Carey, and Carli, and great-granddaughter Kyra "The Little One." He will also be missed by his brother Case and sister-in-law Milly. Slim worked construction for many years and then the City of Winnipeg Water Works until his retirement in 1993. Slim had a strong work ethic and organizational skills. Everything had a place and was in place! Dad loved to work with his tractors and putter in his shop. He cut and stacked cords and cords of firewood. Dad was such a kind hearted man, always willing to give a helping hand. Dad, Poppa, Slim, you will be forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank all the staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home. A Celebration of Slim's life will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg. To Slim's family; I am sorry to hear of Slim's passing. I was privileged to worked with Slim back in the day and found him to be conscientious and considerate, with a great sense of humor. Slim was an all-round class act who never let you down. Take solace in the thought that he is with Marge now, even while you miss him.
