Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Mr. and Mrs. Tait were wonderful hosts on the many occasions when I visited my best friend Pam (their youngest daughter). They even invited me out to their cottage in summer and winter, where Pam and I spent hours of fun riding horses and sledding off the roof of the cottage into snowbanks. I recall with pleasure Mr. Tait's hours of banjo playing and to this day can hear what his voice sounded like. My love to the entire family and all who love him. - Posted by: Joy Tataryn (Friend) on: Jul 27, 2019

  • I remember Mr. Tait and the Tait family when we all lived on Kildonan Drive in East Kildonan from about 1953 to 1965. Great neighbours. It was lovely to reconnect briefly in 2012 at a Ceilidh celebrating the bicentenary of the arrival of the first Selkirk Settlers to Red River. My condolences to all of you. - Posted by: Cathie Morgan Matula (Morgan when we were neighbours) (neighbour on Kildonan Drive) on: Dec 07, 2016

  • I have known Mr. Tait since I was born. He was always a good man and loved the children. I moved away and moved back when my parents passed. Both he and Mrs. Tait were great people and very helpful neighbours. I remember him climbing a ladder just before they sold their home. I told him not to and he said "I'm never too old for taking care of my home and family." That was so him. Love you Mr. Tait. Love to the family and God's speed. Play that banjo. The Goalen family . - Posted by: Wendy Goalen. (NEMISH) (Old neighbour ) on: Nov 28, 2016

  • Banjo Bob, Accordian Bert & Spoons Norm are having one heck of a jam session in Heaven. R is for rascal; O is for original; B is for Banjo; E is for entertaining; R is for racey and T is for Tall. In other words BOB or best of the best. God's speed my friend and say hi to the old cronies in Heaven for me. - Posted by: Mendy Wolchock (Good friend & lone lady member of the old cronies at McD's.) on: Nov 25, 2016

  • I was both shocked and saddened to learn from Saturday's paper that "Uncle Bob" had passed away. I very much enjoyed the years we played the banjo together in the Senior Melody Group. Bob's dry and wry humour brightened many occasions.I my opinion he simply was a great guy. My most sincere sympathy to Mrs. Tait and family, Mac McCorquodale Fellow banjo player and joke teller - Posted by: Mac McCorquodale (Acquaintance/friend) on: Nov 22, 2016

  • We were very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We were neighbors of Bob and Goody's at Edgewood Estates and enjoyed seeing Bob at McDonald's after they moved. Our condolences to Goody and the family - Posted by: Liz and Bill Cook (Friend and neighbors ) on: Nov 18, 2016
