Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHEATHER HEPPNER (nee HURRY) June 13, 1930 - November 12, 2016 On November 12, 2016 at Misericordia Place, Heather went to her eternal rest. Heather is survived by her immediate family, daughter Sherry, son Waren (Kim) and grandson Ryan. Heather's husband of 54 years, Peter, passed away in 2008. Heather was born in Morden, Manitoba, to parents Daisy and William Hurry. Heather's siblings, older sister Audrey and younger brother Raymond predeceased Heather. Heather moved to Winnipeg in her late teens and met and fell in love with Peter Heppner. They were married in 1954. Waren and Sherry soon appeared on the scene and Heather and Peter went about raising their small, happy family. Heather was a faithful member of Calvary Temple church and was active as a girl's Crusader leader, as well as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Heather was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend (and best friend to dear Mom Helen). Heather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002; however, the disease did not define who she was as a person. The essence of Heather remained - her smile and her kisses were given freely almost to the end. Many, many thanks to the staff at Misericordia Place for their caring, compassion and friendship. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 or to Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, 99 Cornish Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1A2. A private graveside service has taken place. Neil Bardal Funeral Centre in charge of arrangements. Dear Sherry & Warren.. Marion Archer just sent this to me.. I went to C T in Wpg & grew up on the farm in Manitoba Roland area.. Daughter of Elsie (Ball) Lewis. I knew your Mom & Dad & when we moved to 100 Mile, BC in 1965... Your Mom never missed sending a Christmas card with all the news & the last I heard from her was in 2004 or so when she sent me a beautiful Birthday card in July.. Marion Archer sent me this. So wonderful to know your Mom is with the Lord & your Dad. My oldest sister Effie just passed away in Brandon at 86 & she too had Alzheimers.. It is wonderful to know they now are Free. Hi Sherry, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She had a true kindness about her. A loving mother that passed her nature onto her daughter. Sherry, your caring for your mother was pure. I am so sorry for your loss Sherry. Your mom was a lovely lady and such a great companion to my mom (Daisy). She will miss her friend "Dorothy" at the table! Our sincere sympathy to the family of Heather...Heather was my cousin, her mother Daisy my Aunt, from Upton, England. I only had the privilege to meet Heather once, but enjoyed her good humor, and rejoiced in her faith, the stories she told, and the family roots from which we have both come.
