Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE HELEN RYALL (nee TOMASCHUK) With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Elsie Ryall on November 13, 2016 in Winnipeg at the age of 91. Mom was born April 19, 1925 and raised in the Meacham district, SK. She moved to Winnipeg in 1947, where she married, worked and raised her family. Mom's love of cooking lead her to a career in cooking most notably at the Shrine Temple on Wellington Crescent, then as the Head Chef at St. Andrews College at the U of M, retiring in 1989. While studying cooking at RRCC, Mom had top marks and it showed when she topped the year off by winning a Gold Medal in the annual Culinary Competition. In addition to cooking, Mom loved gardening, spending time with family, knitting and crocheting, as well as watching football and curling on TV. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brian (Neila) of Winnipeg, Bonnie (Terry) of Selkirk and Charlene (Grant) Wicks of Saskatoon; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Victor Tomaschuk of Mississauga, as well as a vast extended family and friends. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Justin and Rose (nee Bukurak) Tomaschuk; brothers, Louis, Martin, William and Baby George; sisters, Ann Fenton, Dorothy Klukewich, Olga Kozolowski, Vera Kutzy, Alice Markowski and Baby Lena. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Bubba (as we have lovingly called her for years) was a beautiful person who will always hold a special place in my heart. She was the grandma I didn't have at my wedding, her door was always open when we travelled south from Thompson and she was always there for me and my family. Bubba, may you rest peacefully without pain. You will always be in my heart and I will cherish you in my memories forever. Forever remembered and loved. My condolences to all her family and friends as Heaven gains another angel, our loss here is enormous. Love Always, Dianne Little & family - Posted by: Dianne Little (Friend ) on: Nov 21, 2016

Having grown up close to the Ryall household it is difficult to remember a time that I didn't know Mrs Ryall. How many times did I sit in her tiny kitchen waiting for Brian. How many times did we borrow her Dodge Valiant for a road trip or just for fun. How many times did she make sure we had everything we needed for a weekend at the lake. Many times. Mrs Ryall always treated me, and all of Brian's friends with kindness and generosity. It was like having another mother watching out for you. I had a chance to sit and talk with her this past summer. I am thankful for that, and will remember her, always. - Posted by: Will Tabas (Famliy friend) on: Nov 19, 2016
