Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE LACHANCE Quietly and serenely on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, Mom tip-toed out of this world to join her husband Paul Lachance, her Dad Doria Dorge and her Mom Rosina Barker. Mom is survived by her sister Kay Pittman; seven children Lorraine, Paulette Lafrenier, Doris Kent (George), Jeanine Hughes (Jack), Agnes Thomson (Wayne), Raymond Lachance and Robert Lachance (Bonnie). Mom also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly. Mom was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters and her daughter-in-law, Janet. Mom was born in St. Agathe on August 9, 1918. Her family moved to St. Norbert after her Dad's death. At the age of 14 she began working at St. Mary's Academy then later at the St. Boniface Hospital with her brother Cyril. On July 29, 1939 she married Paul. From St. Boniface they moved to Southwood Avenue in Fort Garry. There she was known by all her neighbours for her never empty coffee pot and her famous homemade soup. From Southwood she moved to her apartment on Pembina Highway. Our Mother dedicated her life to her family. She was a woman of strong faith which helped her through the difficult times. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rossbrook House, 658 Ross Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3A 0M1 or a charity of choice.
