It is with extreme sadness that we announce that Mom has passed away, at the age of 93. With her family by her side, she left us and has moved on to her next adventure. Dora was predeceased by her husband Jerry. She was mother to her beloved four boys, Larry (Pru), Gregg (Ann McKenzie), Gerry (Laurey Craig) and Andy (Barb). She is also sadly missed by her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dora was the last survivor of her prior family siblings. Dora was also predeceased by Gerry's first wife Joan. Dora was born in Winnipeg and resided here for her entire life. She was a strong, fun-loving, independent spirit, Dora was much-loved by her many friends and neighbours, including those from Grand Beach and the art community. She gave boundless love to her family, her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Her ability to make up and tell stories that kept children spell-bound, was famous. As you go through life you meet many many people but for some who were lucky enough to have had Dora in theirs is a true blessing. I don't know of anyone who knew or met Dora could say otherwise. She was a dear friend of my parents and as a kid growing up I always heard great stories about her. In fact, the stories she told us a kids at Grand Beach will remain as special as the day she told them. Always a smile on her face Dora would make you feel like she was seeing you for the first time in a long time. She will be missed by many. My thoughts and condolences to the families. Dora left leaving us with smiles and genuine laughter. Thank you Dora for being 'YOU"! You are one in a million. I can only imagine the stories she is telling in heaven. Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it? - Posted by: Dana Simpson (Friend) on: Nov 25, 2016

Dora was a good friend and neighbor to my Mom, Betty Swarbrick. Many good times were had at the "Monday afternoon social club". A gifted artist, we are blessed with a lovely painting she did for our wedding gift back in 1976. Our sympathies....the Swarbrick family. - Posted by: Barb Andersson (Swarbrick) (Neighbour) on: Nov 20, 2016

Dear Larry, Gregg, Gerry, Andy and your families, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your lovely mother. I am grateful Dad and I had the opportunity to visit with her a couple of days in March. She was just as warm & twinkly-eyed as I remembered her. She and Dad were so happy to see each other. She still had stories to tell. She was so much like Florrie, my grandmother, in her storytelling and her appearance, that it was hard to think she was not her daughter, but her niece. She really appreciated being in her home and having the ability to keep an eye on the squirrels and birds that came to her garden. I know you took good care of her because she could talk of not much else than you all. I'm so glad that memories of her and Aunt Connie and Aunt Renie were part of my early childhood. She will be sorely missed by so many lives she touched... So much talent in the Prior family. With heartfelt sympathy, Linda Rowley - Posted by: Linda (Saw) Rowley (Great niece / cousin) on: Nov 19, 2016
