LORENA FLORENCE POGUE (ENGLISH) On Thursday, November 17, 2016 Lorena Florence Pogue (English) of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, formerly of Bagot, Manitoba, beloved wife of the late James L. Pogue passed away at Lion's Prairie Manor at the age of 88 years. A Graveside Service will take place at Bethel Cemetery, Treherne, Manitoba on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon in Lorena's honour will be held at the Omega Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Lorena was predeceased by her parents James and Thelma (Dobbin) English, her brother Morley English, her parents-in-law Albert and Merle (Doak) Pogue, and her brothers-in-law Roy Tibbett and Gordon Taylorson. Lorena leaves behind her sister Donalda (English) Tibbett and family, sister-in-law Lynda Doucet and family, Evelyn Alderson and family, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lorena was born in Treherne, Manitoba December 30, 1927. She grew up helping on the family farm, then as a young adult went out to teach on a one year permit. It was at this time she met the love of her life James Leslie Pogue of Bagot, Manitoba. They were soon married and continued to live and farm in the Bagot area. Lorena loved her bowling and curling leagues and became active in the Rebecca Lodge, of which she was a member for over 40 years holding many roles within the organization. The family wishes to extend a huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Lions Prairie Manor and the Portage District and General Hospital.
