DIANE BOYKO Diane Boyko, sister, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to all passed away peacefully on November 16, 2016 at her home in Winnipeg. Diane is predeceased by her parents, Jean and William Boyko. She is survived by her sister, Linda, her three children, Lorrisa (Brad), Chris (Elaine), and Jerrold (Amber), as well as her six grandchildren, Savannah, Aiden, Jacob, Landon, Lucas, and Lincoln. Diane was a very kind, caring, empathetic person who was always there to help others in need. Her compassion for others led her to choose a career in nursing. Diane graduated as a registered nurse from the Winnipeg General Hospital Nursing Program in 1968. Diane started her career working as a ward nurse, later specializing in the care of dialysis patients. Diane also worked as part of a pharmaceutical research team, and then transitioned to work as a pediatric allergy nurse. Diane not only took great pride in her hard work but also in the dedication she showed to raising her family and home. Family members and friends alike were the happy beneficiaries of Diane's culinary skills. An avid reader, gardener, crafter, and traveler, Diane's abiding passion was for her three children, and later for her beautiful grandchildren. Diane will be so sadly missed by all whose lives she touched, whether it was through her gifts of time, a helping hand, a listening ear, or an open heart (and sometimes a colorful hand-crocheted afghan). A memorial service and celebration of Diane's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Avenue on Friday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. The service will be followed by a luncheon at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Diane's memory to CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg (Canadian Mental Health Association), 930 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0P8. Donations can also be made on-line at mbwpg.cmha.ca Deeply missed, Forever loved For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.

My condolences to all of Diane's family. Diane and I spent many hours in the research lab talking about life, and goals, and family. She did her best to teach me to be precise and meticulous in my work with research patients and insisted on professionalism by all who entered her lab. Diane was kind and gentle and really really loved her kids and grandchildren. I hope you are dancing up in heaven, pain free and happy. - Posted by: Jo-Anne St-Vincent (Friend and past co-worker) on: Nov 23, 2016

I was saddened to hear of Diane's passing. We spent many years together working in Dialysis. She often spoke lovingly of you, her children, and I can only imagine how thrilled she was to be a grandmother! May your tears water a garden of memories. Please accept my sincere condolences.
