Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ROSS CAMERON Ross died peacefully at Riverview Healthcare Centre on November 22, 2016. He was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba on March 26, 1928, the third child of Agnes and Robert Cameron. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Doug and Bruce. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vivian; son Keith (Lorraine); daughters, Barbara "Joy" and Sandra (Ron) and granddaughters, Heather and Pamela. Ross attended Wolfe Creek School near Shoal Lake. After the family moved to Winnipeg in 1942 he attended Gordon Bell High School. He graduated from University of Manitoba with a BSc in Agriculture. On a scholarship to Iowa State College he earned his Master of Science. He had a 38 year career with the Manitoba Department of Agriculture in various capacities. Ross was a long time member of Broadway First Baptist Church, where he and Vivian met and were married. He enjoyed curling and golfing as a Wildewood Club member. He also bowled and especially enjoyed fishing at their cottage at Brereton Lake. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Riverview for their care and compassion. A Memorial service celebrating Ross' life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Broadway First Baptist Church, 790 Honeyman Ave. Wpg. Rev. Joe Welty officiating. Aunt Vivian & Cousins Keith, Barbara & Sandra & Families, Thinking of you and sending our love with many hugs and kisses. Lots of fond memories of Uncle Ross . Jim remembers the visits to Winnipeg on the train, the invitation to dinners at the Wildwood club while there visiting with mom, and to the many family gatherings & picnics held in the parks., and Sheila and I are grateful we got a dinner visit together with most of you while visiting in Winnipeg just over a year ago.....great times!
