GEORGINA (GEORGIE) THERESA STRASSEL (nee GREIG) On Friday, November 18, 2016, Georgie passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 89. Georgie will be remembered by her son Peter (Katherine) and granddaughter Jennifer Strassel; daughter Janice (Dale) and grandchildren Kimberley (Evan), Anthony (Bernice), and Andrew Allardyce; daughter Elaine (Walter) and granddaughter Christina Ferjan; and son Glen (Sherry) and grandchildren Jonah and Tiana Strassel; as well as her sisters and brother and their families; her sister-in-law Anne Strassel. She was predeceased by her husband Kurt, and her son Kurt Jr. Georgie was born on March 18, 1927 in St. Boniface and grew up with six sisters and one brother. At the age of 21, she married Kurt Strassel in 1948. They raised five children on Kildonan Drive and spent 56 years together until his passing in 2004. Georgie was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed puttering in her gardens and in her yard, spending time at the family cottages in the Whiteshell, and trying out new recipes. The family would like to thank the staff of B2 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for the care and compassion provided to Georgie over the past six years. A private memorial service was held.
