MONA GERMAINE CAMPBELL Mona Germaine Campbell (nee Lombaert) of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the age of 64 years. Mona leaves to mourn her passing her loving son Ryan Campbell of Toronto, ON, brothers Jerry Lombaert and Donald Lombaert both of Brandon, sister Anita Rhodes (Bob Armitage) of Armstrong, BC, sister-in-law Marlene Lombaert of Brandon, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mona is also survived by her aunts Simone Peterson and Marion DeWiele. She was predeceased by her son Chad Campbell, brothers George and Larry Lombaert, father Oscar Lombaert, mother Marguerite Wittevrongel and stepfather Maurice Wittevrongel. Mona was born September 26, 1952. The family lived on the farm near Swan Lake, MB, and moved to Brandon in 1963. In Brandon, Mona attended Sacred Heart School and then graduated from Vincent Massey. After graduating, Mona took a job with the Toronto Dominion Bank. Mona spent the next few years in Brandon, then onto Dauphin for a couple of years and then back to Brandon where her two sons were born, Chad and Ryan. After a few years the family moved to Regina where Mona's sons grew up. Mona moved to Winnipeg in 2007 where she spent the last 10 years. Mona worked in the banking industry all her life, the majority of which was with RBC. While living in Winnipeg, Mona enjoyed the new challenges presented, which in included extensive cross-country travelling for the Bank. Along the way, Mona met many people who became life-long friends. Mona also started travelling with friends and family. Vacations included Caribbean and Alaskan cruises, trips to Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Palm Springs, San Francisco and Mexico. Mona was very proud of her home and enjoyed hosting Christmas, Cousin's weekends, and numerous family and friends from around the country. Special thanks to Dr. Maksymiak, Dr. Cavers, Dr. Munsamy and the staff at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, for their care and compassion. Also, to the many family and friends for all the visits, friendship and emotional support provided to Mona over the years. Mass of the Christian Burial was held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Swan Lake, with Father John Te Nguyen as Celebrant. Interment followed in the St. Martin of Tours Parish Cemetery, Swan Lake, MB. Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Mona's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
