DAVID NORMAN BROWN
Born: Apr 27, 1954
Date of Passing: Nov 20, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID NORMAN BROWN April 27, 1954 - November 20, 2016 Early Sunday morning on November 20, David Brown unexpectedly passed away in the Grace Hospital. David will be sadly missed by his wife Janice, of 43 years, his mother Jennie, his children Angie and Derek (Katherine), his grandchildren Chloe and Daniel, his brother Paul (Carol), his niece Jessica and nephew Ryan, and by many other relatives and close friends. David was born in Winnipeg, growing up in the North End within a large, close-knit extended family. He had an extremely strong work ethic and began working when he was 14 years old. In high school David simultaneously held three part-time jobs. One of these was in the furniture department in Kmart, beginning David's lifelong and successful career in the furniture industry. David and Janice married at an early age and were blessed with love and 43 years together in marriage. David was Janice's rock. Their daughter Angie was born when they were 19 and their son Derek when they were 22. He loved them dearly and was immensely proud of them both. The birth of his grandchildren Chloe and Daniel changed David, opening him to all of us in new and wonderful ways. He joyfully watched their hockey and dance, and was always on quests to find each yet another perfect and special gift. David was close to and cherished his mother throughout his entire life. He deeply loved his brother Paul, wife Carol and their children Jessica and Ryan. David was a family man who was always full of strong support, love and kindness for all. Sunday breakfasts and weekly golf at the St. Charles' Country Club, and dinners and trips with neighbours provided David with fantastic experiences and many friendships. His 40 plus years in furniture yielded numerous close friends across North America. David's family will miss him dearly and would like to thank their extended family and friends for their support. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in David's honour. Janice & family - I am so sorry for this sudden and unexpected loss. I'm sure I speak for all of Dave's business associates when I say that I considered him more a friend than business connection. He was such a funny, warm, and interesting guy! Dave always had a funny anecdote to tell or observation to make whenever we talked. We'll all miss him. - Posted by: David Elmy (Friend & Business Associate) on: Nov 30, 2016
