ROMAN SCHAMP Passed away at the Glenboro Personal Care Home, on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the age of 95 years, Roman Schamp, formerly of Cypress River, MB. Roman Robert Achiel Schamp was born February 11, 1921 and raised on a farm near Cypress River, MB to Jan and Augusta (Malfait) Schamp who came to Manitoba from Belgium to homestead. Roman had eight siblings and was predeceased by a brother and sister William and Simone in infancy, his parents Jan and Augusta, brothers Tony, and Gracien and wife Mildred, sister Annie and husband Gus Marginet, brothers-in-law Omer Rigaux and Armand Desrosiers, nephew Donny Marginet, and nephew-in-law David Van Damme. Roman leaves to mourn his passing his brother Roger of Brandon, sisters Marie Rigaux of Cypress River and Mary Jane Desrosiers of Glenboro, 12 nieces and nephews and spouses, numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held in the St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, Holland, MB, on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jose Montepeque as Celebrant. Prayers will take place at 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Interment followed in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Cypress River Memorial Hall.
