EVELYN MAY HAMERTON (nee MACNEILL) May 23, 1930 - November 24, 2016 It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Evelyn Hamerton on November 24, 2016 at the Wellington Retirement Home in Winnipeg. She was 86 years of age and will be lovingly remembered but sadly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Albert on October 25, 2016, and her brother David MacNeill in 1998, and is survived by her sister Myrna Jensen, sister-in-law Peggy MacNeill, Albert's family including brothers-in-law Bob, Brian (Irene), sister-in-law Lesley (Art), and many nieces and nephews. Upon her retirement in 1985, Evelyn had spent 36 years with the Provincial Government, of which 27 years were spent as the private secretary for the Ministers of Agriculture. Evelyn and Albert enjoyed their ballroom dancing immensely and made many friends there. Traveling and cruises were a passion Evelyn enjoyed with Albert along with being Blue Bomber supporters and season ticket holders for many years. A family funeral was held December 3, 2016 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. The families wish to thank the staff of the Wellington Retirement Home for all their kind words, support and care given to Albert and Evelyn over the last three years.
