CAROLE RUTH GREENALL (HUBER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Ruth Greenall (Huber) on December 3, 2016. Carole leaves to mourn her husband Arthur; children, Jason (Jodi) and Chad (Stephanie); grandchildren, Emma, Carson, Meredith, and Kate; sisters, Audrey (Keith) Mang and Glennis (Elroy) Koch; sisters-in-law, Edith Rittinger and Alice Powell; as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins. Carole was pre-deceased by her sister Dorlin Hildebrand, brother Terry Huber, and parents Walter and Vera Huber. Carole grew up on the family farm near Balgonie, SK, and married Arthur in 1963. They made many friends in and around Balgonie throughout the years and in Winnipeg after the family moved there in 1985. Carole lived her life in service of others. She cared deeply for her family, especially her "four babies", embracing her role as grandmother with a passion. Grandma always made sure her house was stocked with popsicles, a full candy dish, and a freezer full of gluten-free goodies, and that her dinner table was loaded with her family's favourite foods. She never missed an occasion to send the grandkids a card, or a parcel by mail. Carole fought her cancer bravely but very privately over the last year, not wanting people to worry about her or watch her suffer. She spent her final summer doing exactly what she loved the most: cutting her grass, tending to her garden, and visiting her family in Winnipeg, Guelph, and Saskatchewan. Her final wish was for all of her family and friends to know how much she loved them. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard with reception to follow. As per Carole's wishes, dress is to be casual. The family would like to thank all of Carole's care givers: her long-time doctor, Brian Rumbolt; her team at CancerCare; and the many people who cared for her on the Fifth Floor at Women's Hospital, and most especially, in Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. She was treated with utmost dignity and respect in her final year of illness. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carole's name to the Palliative Care Program of the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. I worked with Carol at Shelmerdine's and she was a wonderful friend and always happy. She did love talking about her kids. Remember all the wonderful memories that you all have. I saw her at Shelmerdine's this past summer and she was as always bright and smiley and always positive. Such a lovely person. I have fond memories. - Posted by: Sue Herkert (Co-worker from Shelmerdine's) on: Dec 10, 2016
