NORMAN JOHN SCHULTZ May 20, 1952 - December 5, 2016 With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our best friend, soul mate and beloved husband, father, stepfather and grandfather at the age of 64 years. Norm was born in Winnipeg on May 20, 1952 son of Norman and Muriel Schultz. Norm is survived by his loving children and leaves to cherish and love his memories; his wife Grace whom he cherished and lived for through 15 years of marriage; his son David Schultz and wife Vicki, and grandchildren Maddox and Sydney; daughter Daena Schultz and grandson Cody; step children; Tristan, Chalsea and Evan Melo; brother George Schultz and wife Faye Weinstein. Norm was predeceased by his brother, James E. Schultz and his parents; Norman and Muriel Schultz. Norm was well known and loved in the Transportation Industry for over 34 years of his life. We would like to acknowledge Norm's colleague and longtime friend Rick Lucas who has been an incredible influence throughout his career. Norm spent all of his years looking after his wife and all of his kids. His heart was most fulfilled on summer weekends where he would garden for hours, or during the winter season when he would take vacations with his wife, the most memorable one being the trip to Algarve where him and his wife renewed their vows. He was a kind and selfless individual whose heart and love were always for his wife and children, to make sure that they were looked after and had everything they needed. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Norm's wishes, a small service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in Norm's memory may be made to Grace Hospital Foundation. There's a place I've never seen beyond this world we know, A place I've only heard of But someday hope to go--- It's not on any map, There are no roads to take me there, But it's a place of perfect peace where hearts are free from care. And though I understand some may be saddened when I leave, One day, we all will meet again NEIL BARDALFUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

  • Living beside him was pleasant experience and he was always willing to help. He was a great guy. - Posted by: Betty & Harold Dodds (ex-neighbour) on: Dec 14, 2016

  • I have known Norm since we worked together at TransX in 1999. His passing has left me sad and in shock. He always was quick to share a laugh or a smart azz comment. When working for different companies I would call him and he would inevitably say "What do you want?' You could see his smile through the phone. A true gentleman and his love for Grace and his family always came through. I was bugging him one day about "marrying up". First he laughed then he said "God sent me an angel" Well God got an angel and a good one. I will miss him and thank him for all his help during my career. God bless you Norm and may you watch over us all now. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his many, many friends. - Posted by: Doug Bowes (Former co-worker) on: Dec 13, 2016

  • I had the pleasure of talking to Norm over the Phone when he was at Arnold Brothers and then he recommended me for a Job at Big freight and i worked alongside him for years. What a true gentleman he was , he was always there for everyone and never once thought of himself. My deepest sympathy to Norm's family he will always be in my thoughts - Posted by: Christine Hill (freind & former coworker) on: Dec 13, 2016

  • My deepest sympathies to the Shultz families Norm was a true leader and an inspiration to us all. I had the great pleasure of working with Norm at Arnold Brothers transport - Posted by: Patricia (Trish) Urquhart (Friend former co-worker) on: Dec 13, 2016

  • As I sit here in tears I am reminded that if Norm was here beside me now he'd say come here and give me a hug! Not once did I come into the office at WME when I was not greeted with Norm's mile wide smile. Telling him NO hug today I need a shower always went the way of the wind! He never took no for an answer and always said I don't care, I need my hug! Nobody has ever had my back like this man! He was a co-worker yes but a very special person that I will miss terribly. Poor Florence, we would kid around and shut the door because she knew a hug was in the offing and didn't want to watch! I will miss those hugs and I will miss him........Thank you Norm for being my friend, my co-worked and the one person I trusted most and always at WME. You always made me feel safe! My heart goes out to his wife and family, he spoke of you often and man did he adore you all! This is a huge loss for anyone who was lucky enough to know this special man. I was lucky enough.........Devi - Posted by: Devi Gershbain (Friend - co-worker) on: Dec 11, 2016

  • Oh Grace, I am so very sorry to hear of Norm's passing. To say I am shocked is an understatement, he was so young. I know how much you loved him and I know you will miss him terribly. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Love and Hugs, Joan xoxo - Posted by: Joan Knowles (Ex co-worker and friend) on: Dec 10, 2016

  • My sincerest condolences to the family, Norm was an amazing man and a great friend I will always miss his smile and the greeting I would get (which can't be typed here) - Posted by: Dan Trnka (Former coworker) on: Dec 10, 2016

  • There are people that come into our lives from time to time, and although we may not know it at the time, they will leave an indelible mark on us. Norm is one of those people. Words cannot express the loss that I feel, as I am sure many others are feeling at this time. You always gave it your all Norm, and sacrificed so that others would have. I know you always said that "Guys don't hug".....but a huge hug Norm, and I know that God is hugging you now. Our sympathies and condolences to Grace and the rest of the Schultz family. We truly lost one of a kind. Miss you bud. - Posted by: Rick Lucas & Family (Friend, co-worker ) on: Dec 10, 2016
