BEATRICE WEGER (nee FOSTER) Peacefully, at the age of 86, Bea passed away at Concordia Place where she spent the last two years of her life. Born in Cookstown, Northern Ireland Bea came to Canada with her family in 1953. In Canada, she made Winnipeg her home where she met and married her husband John and lived out the remainder of her life. Bea had a 28 year career in loss prevention with the T. Eaton Company and after an early retirement, enjoyed working in retail fashion at Holt Renfrew for nine years. Having a deep spiritual life and commitment to her faith and Church Ministry, Bea served at the St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church as People's Warden, Rector's Warden, vestry member; was Diocesan Representative for Rupert's Land for five years and was a founding member of Contemplative Outreach Canada for centering prayer. Her other community work included prison ministry, and being a long standing Victim Services volunteer with The Winnipeg Police Service. Bea had an abundant energy for life and loved to share with people on her journey and on her many travels. She had a quest for personal and spiritual growth, living her life deeply and fully into her early 80s. She will be fondly remembered as spirited and fun loving; as a strong and determined woman who stood up for what she believed in; for her sharp and intuitive mind; for her willingness to extend herself to others and for her deep appreciation of family, of her many friends and of life. "I asked for all things that I might enjoy life; I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for, but everything that I hoped for. Almost in spite of myself my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among all people most richly blessed." Predeceased by her husband John, her son Glenn, her brother Tom, and sister Millie. Bea is survived by her daughter Lynn and husband Warren; her sister Hilda (Mike Murrell) in British Columbia, her grandson Chris and wife Jacquelynn (Johnson) and great-grandchildren Avah, Sam and Hannah in Ontario. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Concordia Place and Misericordia Health Centre for the compassion and care they extended to Bea through a very difficult time in her life. Should friends so desire, memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the St. Mary Magdalene general fund or to a charity of choice. Funeral Service will held at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 3 St. Vital Road on December 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment to take place at a later date. My deepest condolences to the friends and family of Bea in your loss of a great lady. She was instrumental in helping me move in a new direction in life. A resourceful, spiritually sound, fun-loving, authentic friend, her strength was there for me when most needed. She always made time happen for a brief pick-me-up or a long talk. Her guidance and support is treasured in memory. Her caring friendship carried me through some challenging situations while I gained my Social Work degree. With gratitude, Nina T. - Posted by: Nina Tackaberry (Friend) on: Dec 11, 2016
