Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Dear Heather and Ken ... I offer you condolences for the passing of your mother. In your mom, I saw a grace, an elegance and a good soul. She and I have had many conversations over the years (I first met her in 1970 when I was a young bride recently uprooted to this area of our country). The past few years, I discovered the talents of an accomplished artist and I knew her love of music, flowers, birds...During one particular telephone conversation, several years ago, at a very difficult time in my life, she shared with me the title of a book she had read and which had offered her comfort. She thought maybe, it may bring me solace (or wisdom) .... the irony of this was that I was in the midst of reading this very gem. The Four Agreements by Miguel Ruiz.....she ended her conversation with much warmth and very kind words to help heal me. I will NEVER forget that act of reaching out and of kindness. My daughter and I recently visited her and found her in good spirits, it was to be our last visit, and it was a lovely one. I am happy to have had the inclusion of your mom in the journey of my life. I will always remember her with love. - Posted by: Cécile Mahoney (Niece ) on: Dec 11, 2016

  • Joyce was my neighbour for many years at the Fort Garry Rotary Villa. We enjoyed puzzling together and often puzzled until late at night. We shared many visits, chatting and munching on freshly baked cookies. I've missed her for a while now and will always miss her gentle spirit and fun-loving nature. - Kathryn - Posted by: Kathryn Harper (Friend) on: Dec 10, 2016
