Born: Dec 04, 1935
Date of Passing: Dec 09, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR ANNE ANNANDALE (PAYNE) December 4, 1935 - December 9, 2016 Our beloved mother passed away peacefully at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home. She will be greatly missed by her husband Eric, her children David, Michelle and Robert, her granddaughter Charlotte, and her sisters Mary and Beatrice. With Eric, Eleanor travelled the world, visiting countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, and they were married in Paris. They would return to Europe many times in the years to come, giving their children extraordinary experiences that would fuel their own lifelong love of travel. Eleanor was a scholar, getting her MA degree in French. She was a teacher, touching the lives of many students from kindergarten to university. She sang with choirs, played piano and guitar, and composed children's songs. She was the kindest, gentlest person, and the most loving, wonderful mother. To know her was to love her. Her radiant smile was the visible expression of her love for us, and she showed us how to be good people by being the best. We would like to thank the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home for having taken such good care of our mother. Service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on December 17, 2016, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, we would like to invite people to make a donation to Sistema Winnipeg, or to a charity of their choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.

My sincere condolences to Eleanor's family in their loss of a beautiful soul. Eleanor indeed was a quiet, sensitive friendly person. After many years, I still vividly remember my feelings of gratitude for Eleanor's kind, thoughtful consideration welcoming me in a women's choral group when I was a new member, Janet Handel - Posted by: Janet Handel (fellow choir mate) on: Dec 19, 2016

Some years ago, I had the pleasure of being in a belly dance class at the downtown Y with Elinore. She had great focus on learning, and great joy in dancing, as well. No doubt, her spirit is dancing somewhere. - Posted by: Anna Tenosky (acquaintance) on: Dec 16, 2016

Condolences for the loss of your beloved Eleanor.I had the privilege and joy to know her and work with her in Fort Garry schools where her musical talents and teaching skills were greatly appreciated by me, my students and as well, my daughters who were lucky to have her, at times, as their French Immersion Music teacher. Eleanor always had a story to share of her latest travels or musical project on which she was working. Her energy and enthusiasm was infectious! - Posted by: Clara Fjeldsted (Fort Garry School Division teaching colleague) on: Dec 16, 2016
