High Flight by John Magee Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunwards I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a thousand things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air, Up, up the long delirious burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, Where never lark, or even eagle, flew; And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • A long time acquaintance and friend I regret that I did not visit in the past few years. I often brought to mind the Sewell's and how they were doing and vowed to visit in the summer. For the past few years that did not happen. I felt close to both Doreen and Frank and did enjoy visiting with them whenever I saw them. I will never forget the steak and kidney pies that Doreen brought me from time to time. We are now in Florida for the winter, and hope to be in Kenora for the service in the spring. We head back there as soon as the ice is out to allow us to get to our residence. This has been a true loss. Wayne Russell and Glenda - Posted by: Wayne Russell and Glenda (Friend) on: Dec 17, 2016
