DAVID GLEN BOLIANAZ January 21, 1960 - December 15, 2016 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Dave Bolianaz after a brief but courageous battle with Cancer. Dave will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 35 years, Irene, his daughters Chandra (Jared) and Danielle, his beautiful grandchildren Jackson and Leighton, siblings Mike (Carol) and Debbie (Rick), his niece Kaitlin, nephews Jared, Chase and Kristofer, father-in-law Jim Duff, and many other relatives and friends. Dave was predeceased by his Oma and Opa Thersia and Glen Carlson, his father Thomas Bolianaz, and his mother-in-law Joyce Duff. Dave was born in Two Harbours, Minnesota in 1960 and came to Canada shortly after. He started a career he was proud of with CN Rail in 1979 as a labourer, then carman and finally a conductor where he continued to work until his passing. In 1981 he married his high school sweetheart Irene and they started a family. When he wasn't at the rink watching one of his daughters play or coach ringette, Dave could often be found phone or computer in hand working through union business for TCRC division 583 where he was a local chairman for the past 20 years. Dave loved to travel, especially his annual vacations to southern California with his family and spending time with "his boys" golden retrievers Cash and Ty. Dave was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and his passing has left a void that will be impossible to fill. The family would like to thank CN Rail and all of Dave's union brothers and sisters for their support throughout his illness and during this difficult time. As per Dave's wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or an animal rescue of your choice. I started working with Dave when he got set up in the fort Frances Pool as a conductor. We talked about his travels overseas and he would show me all the pictures he took of the trip with his family. He had some really good stories to tell me, I always look forward to hear his next stories when we worked together on the train. My deepest sympathy to the family he will be truly missed but not forgotten. Douglas Charban - Posted by: Douglas Charban (Friend Co-worker) on: Dec 22, 2016

Rene, Chandra, Danielle and all of Dave's family; My heartfelt condolences to all of you on the untimely passing of Dave. I hope you can take some solace and comfort from the fact that his passing has not gone unnoticed by the great number of people who Dave affected in positive ways. We are greatly diminished by his passing, he has gone too soon. I had the opportunity to work with Dave and I can state unequivocably he was a man I could trust, whether fulfilling his duties as a Conductor or yardmaster, or in the performance of his duties as the local chairman of the TCRC-CTY. We may have been on opposite sides of the manager - employee fence, but he conducted his union role with absolute integrity and honesty, and I respected him for his courage and dedication. He was an example to all running trades employees, never shirked his duties and could be relied upon to complete his trips or assignments in a calm and dignified manner. He offered valueable insight to operational issues and presented vigourous coherent arguments when defending his union brothers. As a mentor and trainer of new running trades employees, he was amongst the top of his peers. We would often take time in my office to take a short respite from day-to-day union-employer issues to discuss our families and plans, and from those conversations I learned Dave placed his family first on his priority list. He loved you Irene, and all your family with joy and a passion that was incredible. When he spoke of his family it was always with a smile and a story about someone or the beloved dogs. You truly were his inspiration. I shall miss miss him but know I was made a better person because of Dave. I believe even now he is looking down watching over you and all conductors operating trains so they return safely from their tours. Again, my heartfelt condolences to you for your loss. - Posted by: Greg Wolnairski (Co-worker) on: Dec 22, 2016

Big time shocker for sure. Although I didn't see Uncle Dave in a while I always had great memories of him. Family dinners and get togethers, camping and the lake. I will always remember not wanting to get in trouble from him since he was so tall and had a booming voice lol I'll remember Uncle Dave as a strong guy and the kinda guy that could be the "rock" for so many people. My deepest condolences to Rene, Chandra, Danielle and family. I admired and have a lot of respect for Dave, he was always there for me during times when I needed a hand doing any job that I asked. Dave could always tackle any job and especially building projects, he was a mentor to me. He will be missed although never forgotten, Dave was a Great Man. Dave was a great man. Well respected and held a lot of integrity. Dave trained me as a conductor, yardmaster, and then as Local Chairman where we worked together closely until passing. If i ever needed help Dave always had an answer, and if he didn't, he knew someone who did. My condolences to his wife Irene and two daughters whom he always spoke highly of. He will be missed. - Posted by: Aaron Mann (Co-worker/friend) on: Dec 21, 2016

We would like to send our deepest condolences to all of you. I have never seen such a supportive Dad when it came to Ringette. Attending all of the games his daughters not only played in but the all the ones they coached as well. Our family has had the honour of both of Dave's daughters coaching our daughter and always enjoyed seeing him and his wife at all of our games. Please let us know if you guys need anything. Your Ringette family will always be available for anything you may need. - Posted by: The Lachance Family (Ringette Friends) on: Dec 21, 2016
